If you’re looking for a “Key Race” look no further than the seventh race at Keeneland Race Course on Oct. 15.
The seven-furlong maiden special weight for 2-year-olds was won by Kopitar in 1:23.42.
Seven of the 12 participants have come back to run and four made trips to the winner’s circle: winner Kopitar (a Nov. 8 first-level allowance at one mile on turf); runner-up Indygo Mountain (a Nov. 19 maiden special weight at one mile); sixth-place finisher Uno Mas (a Nov. 15 maiden special weight at Fair Grounds over six furlongs); and 10th place finisher Au Moon (a Nov. 29 maiden special weight at 1 1/8 miles).
Fourth- and fifth-place finishers Buzzin and Dreamin and Pointing Home, respectively, came back to finish close seconds, while third-place finisher Stargleam was fourth in his return.
The others who have yet to resurface include Tintim Por Tintim (seventh), Florentino-JPN (eighth), Country Flavor (ninth), Real Thunder (11th) and Cold Feet (12th).
