    Now that the Kentucky Derby has been made official and paid out, things return to normal here at the Downs and we settle in for our lengthy Spring meet. Although Kentucky Derby week is the most exciting time of the year for all of horse racing, our Spring meet never fails to produce top-class racing and events for the local crowd.

  • Stephen Foster Super Saturday All-Stakes Pick 6 Ticket

    Great opportunity to hit the Pick 6 on Saturday with six consecutive graded stakes races making up the sequence.

    Here's how I'm breaking down the races:

    Race 6 - Singling off the bat with #5-Histericalady, I just don't see this field coming close to her.

  • Who Needs Some Sugar Baby Love on Wednesday?

    This Wednesday's card looks to be a great day of racing, with full fields and some interesting match-ups that should produce some nice prices.

    The ninth and last looks to be the nicest race of the day in my opinion, and with plenty of well meant fillies in this one, the Super Hi-5 could be very hittable.

  • Thursday Turf Throwdown

    After a great card on Memorial Day, we're taking the day off here on Wednesday and jumping back into the swing of things on Thursday.

    Taking a look at the card, the fifth race jumps out as one where you can get some bang for your buck. Most all of these runners are accomplished on the turf, and at first glance it would be tough to find an overwhelming favorite amongst the group.

  • Spring is in the Air

    With the 2008 Spring Meet upon us, that certain smell is in the air and you can feel the buzz around town. The throng of media and return of the horse population here at Churchill Downs definitely makes one aware of the fast approaching Kentucky Derby and the return to live racing here in Louisville.
