The White Party! 

One thing's for sure. When there's a huge party, we're all over it! This Downs After Dark marks the return of our third annual White Party where all guests are encouraged to dress in white and enjoy the night! There's going to be awesome night racing, live music and drink specials. Gates open at 4:00 p.m. and the first race is at 6:00 p.m. It'll be white-hot.

  • Don't miss the Bet or No Bet sweepstakes presented by Thorntons where four lucky fans throughout the night will get an opportunity to win a chance to choose between placing a $1,000 win wager on the horse of their choice or walk away with a $100 gas giftcard from Thorntons.

Best Dressed Contest

We encourage you to dress to impress in your best summer whites for our Best Dressed Contest! We will award prizes for the best dressed female, male, couple, and group so make sure to strut your stuff in the Plaza!

Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands Trophy Presentation

Watch as members of the team that guided Phipps Stable and Stuart Janney III's Orb to victory in the 139th running of the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (Grade I) as they receive the engraved trophies earned by the winning owner, trainer, jockey and breeder in the “Run for the Roses.” The presentation will take place following the 4th race which has a post time of 7:26 p.m. (all times EDT). Winning trainer Claude "Shug" McGaughey III and jockey Joel Rosario are among those scheduled to participate in the presentation.

Free Parking Shuttles at Papa Johns Cardinal Stadium

  • Shuttles begin at 5:00pm and will end at midnight
  • Pick up at lots F and G at Papa Johns Cardinal Stadium and drop off at Gate 1 at Churchill Downs

Downs After Dark during the Spring Meet at Churchill Downs are scheduled for Saturdays, June 15– June 29. Join the party under the lights for live racing and entertainment. 

Breeders' Cup Challenge$500,000 Stephen Foster Handicap (GI)
The $500,000 Stephen Foster Handicap (GI) is for three-year-olds and up going 1 1/8 miles on the main track.
