Effective Wednesday, Nov. 17, Churchill Downs will raise overnight race purses 6.3 percent because of higher than expected all-sources wagering levels through the early stages of the 21-day Fall Meet.
Churchill Downs and the Kentucky Thoroughbred Association will host their annual “College Scholarship Day” at the historic home of the Kentucky Derby on Friday, Nov. 12. A total of $10,000 in college scholarships will be given away that day to randomly drawn students between live races.
Churchill Downs and the Breeders’ Cup will implement special hospitality and safety measures for the Breeders’ Cup World Championships on Friday, Nov. 5 and Saturday, Nov. 6. Patrons are advised to arrive at the track early on both days to accommodate possible search procedures at all entrance gates.
Fans hoping to purchase tickets to the Breeders’ Cup World Championships, “Downs After Dark” night racing and other Fall Meet events at Churchill Downs can do so in person as well as online.
The official event logos for Kentucky Derby 137 and Kentucky Oaks 137 were released Wednesday by Churchill Downs, and officially licensed apparel and gifts items featuring the new marks are now available for purchase online at www.KentuckyDerbyStore.com.

Churchill Downs will kick-start an action-packed Fourth of July holiday weekend in style as the legendary home of the Kentucky Derby winds down its 42-day spring meet with the final “Downs After Dark Presented by Budweiser Select” on Friday at 6 p.m. (all times Eastern).
Churchill Downs will greet representatives of Operation Homefront and area military families served by that organization during the final “Downs After Dark” night racing session of the track’s Spring Meet on Friday, July 2.

Churchill Downs officials will present donation checks totaling $223,346 on Thursday, June 24, to four charitable organizations that benefited from fundraising partnerships with the Kentucky Oaks and the new Taste of Derby Presented by Yum Brands™, a new event introduced during Kentucky Derby Week.
For the first time in its history the Breeders’ Cup World Championships will be held at Churchill Downs, Inc (“CDI”) in consecutive years as officials from Breeders’ Cup Ltd, Churchill Downs and Commonwealth of Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear made the announcement at a news conference this morning at the racetrack.
