Churchill Downs Incorporated (NASDAQ: CHDN) (“CDI” or “Company”) announced today it will install permanent lights at Churchill Downs Racetrack (“CDRT” or “Churchill Downs”), home of the Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby. This decision follows careful review of the Churchill Downs’ Spring Meet night racing experiment.
Churchill Downs has presented the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation (“TRF”) with a check for $50,000, a total that matches contributions to the equine retirement organization made through the new Safety Center established as part of a wide-ranging set of safety initiatives announced earlier this year at the home of the Kentucky Derby.
Hoosier Park Horses Not Allowed at Churchill Downs Due to Symptoms of Contagious Disease at Indiana Track
On the recommendation of the Kentucky State Veterinarian's Office, Churchill Downs and its Trackside Louisville training center will not allow horses stabled at Hoosier Park to enter either of those stable areas until further notice.
