Winchell Thoroughbreds LLC’s Untapable, winner of last year’s Longines Kentucky Oaks (Grade I), returned to the work tab Monday, breezing five furlongs in 1:01.60 – her third published workout since winning Oaklawn Park’s $600,000 Apple Blossom Handicap (GI) by 2 ½ lengths on April 10.
Charles Fipke’s Tale of Verve entered the Preakness picture after a five-furlong work in 1:00.40 this morning at Churchill Downs and Zayat Stables’ Mr. Z, 13th in the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum!
Ike and Dawn Thrash and Janet and Sam Alley’s 4-year-old filly Katie’s Eyes pulled away from a field of eight fillies and mares inside the final 100 yards to win Saturday’s fifth running of the $66,029 Unbridled Sidney by 1 ¼ lengths over Free as a Bird on Saturday at Churchill Downs.
Danzig Moon, the fifth-place finisher in last Saturday’s Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (GI), will continue on the Triple Crown trail.
“We are going,” said Norman Casse, assistant to his father, trainer Mark Casse. “He came out of the Derby really well and deserves one more chance.”

Brands and the Longines Kentucky Oaks attracted record combined attendance of 294,276 to Churchill Downs Racetrack (“CDRT”), the track resumes its 38-day Spring Meet on Thursday, May 7 with the first of its new Twilight Thursday programs.
