Kentucky Derby Winner Big Brown Jogs Again On Muddy Track; Stevil Work Delayed;No Blinkers For Tres Borrachos

Track record-holder Indian Chant cruised to a five-length victory over Success Success to win the $60,000 six-furlong feature for three-year-olds and up Sunday afternoon at Churchill Downs.
IEAH Stables and Paul Pompa Jr.’s Big Brown had his presence announced on the track shortly before 7 a.m. Sunday with a loud clap of thunder.
Unfazed, Big Brown went about his morning activity, jogging one mile with Michelle Nevin up accompanied by a pony.
WS Farish Jr’s Seaside Retreat roared from off the pace to win the $60,000 feature race for three-year-olds and up by two lengths over even-money favorite Crested on Saturday afternoon at Churchill Downs.

Churchill Downs Racetrack has been forced to cut purses by 20 percent, effective Wednesday, May 14, because the Kentucky Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Association (“KHBPA”) and the Kentucky Thoroughbred Association (“KTA”) have blocked the distribution of Churchill Downs’ simulcast signal to national advance-deposit wagering (“ADW”) sites, including TwinSpires.com., the official ADW site
“Everything’s good here,” trainer Rick Dutrow said Thursday morning after Kentucky Derby winner Big Brown, winner of the 134th running of the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (Grade I) was back in Stall 12 at Barn 22 on the Churchill Downs backstretch.
