Breeders' Cup Ltd, Churchill Downs to Host Wednesday Press Conference
Officials of the Breeders' Cup Ltd and Churchill Downs will make a major economic development announcement in a press conference scheduled at the historic racetrack on Wednesday, October 8 at 10:30 a.m. (EDT).
The press conference is scheduled to be held in the Aristides Room on the 4th floor of the Churchill Downs clubhouse.
Among those scheduled to attend the announcement from the Breeders' Cup are Chairman William Farish Jr. and President and Chief Executive Officer Greg Avioli. Churchill Downs officials scheduled to participate include Churchill Downs Incorporated ("CDI") President and CEO Robert Evans and Steve Sexton, CDI executive vice president and president of Churchill Downs racetrack. Others scheduled to attend the event include Metro Louisville Mayor Jerry Abramson and Larry Hayes, secretary of the Executive Cabinet and interim Economic Development Secretary for Gov. Steve Beshear.
Media members should enter Churchill Downs via Gate 17, which is located off the Central Avenue parking lot and adjacent to the paddock, and proceed to the clubhouse elevators for transportation to the 4th floor and the Aristides Room.
Churchill Downs, the world's most legendary racetrack, has conducted Thoroughbred racing and presented America's greatest race, the Kentucky Derby, continuously since 1875. Located in Louisville, the flagship racetrack of Churchill Downs Incorporated (NASDAQ Global Select Market: CHDN) also operates Trackside at Churchill Downs, which offers year-round simulcast wagering at the historic track. Churchill Downs will conduct the 135th running of the Kentucky Derby on May 2, 2009. The track's 2008 Fall Meet is scheduled for Oct. 26-Nov. 29.
