Jill Byrne's Handicapping
Surely Irish (2) is in great form at this level and has the speed to be effective from the start. Janou (4) steps up off the claim with a dominating victory and has shown a strong liking for the local surface. Amazing Saint (3) goes for top connections and will be running late in a race loaded with pace.
Reputa The Beautah (4), like the top pick can improve in her second start since May and also takes a legitimate class drop here. Ellusive Wildcat (2) showed little in her first out since February but takes the needed step down the ladder here.
Lou Brissie (5) has been facing good company and showed a bit of life last out. He is better suited to the Churchill dirt course and gets some speed in here to set up his run. St. Ivan (6) finished behind the top pick recently and has worked well for today. Storm In The Lake (2) showed speed before fading in a stronger race at Saratoga and is well placed with these.
Sky High Lady (6) had a wide trip when unable to make up ground late as the favorite last out. She gets extra distance here and looks tough to go against. M’Dearest (7) finished behind the top pick when they met but fits well in her first try on the dirt course. Look Who’s Ritzy (5) stopped quickly in her debut and can improve in her second start and the move to traditional dirt.
Snuggs and Kisses (3) is in good form and has a solid form over the Matt Winn turf. She has the speed to be in a good position from the start. Starsilhouette (6) finished close to the top pick last out and has a similar running line. Doilookfatnthese (9) drops in class today for a sharp stable and adds to the pace scenario in this race.
Raptitude (2) made up some ground in his debut against a decent field in a key race. He should like the added ground and the class drop. Lyphard’s Action (7) is a first time runner from top connections with a steady series of works. Frac Job (8) showed a bit of speed in his only start and can improve off that effort.
Boozy Bird (6) takes a sharp dive down the claiming ladder for connections who do well in these scenarios. Her recent form fits well at this level. Follow the Lady (10) may not have cared for the Polytrack last out and has the speed to be effective from the start with these. Need to Know (11) has shown some form at this level and won’t be too far back early on.
Yanbian Express (6) ran evenly in her debut and looks capable of moving forward today with a similar performance. Cypress Isle (8) has been close several times versus similar company and should appreciate the turn back in distance. Amazing Surprise (11) is a debut runner from good connections and has been working well for this.
Kathern’s Kitten (8) is perfectly suited to today’s longer distance and has run well at this level on various courses before. Gambolling Girl (1) has run well in both her starts and should only improve the switch to the turf today. My Perfect Light (6) would also appear to relish the added ground and is a winner on the Matt Winn turf.
Elusive Quantity (9) faded against tougher and should last longer with the surface switch and the drop in class today. Song of Life (12) has good works for a top team and can be ready to fire at first asking. Sunday Missile (4) has worked consistently for his debut and will get a hustling start from the gate under Court. True Tatoo (5) goes for a stable that does very well placing their first time runners. Fancy Farm (13) can improve with the experience of his debut run and the drop to bottom level maidens.
