Jill Byrne's Handicapping
Malibu Double (4) hails from a top juvenile barn and has a precocious pedigree. The Roofer (2) has the experience and ran well in his debut. Craving Carats (6) has worked steadily for his first start and will be running late.
Point (6) is in good form and is well spotted today. Snow Kissed (1) is consistent and will be closing late. Sympathy Act (2) returns from a layoff and will be a factor off her prior form.
Godard (1) faltered in his last start but his previous turf form puts him right in the mix today. On Stirling Bridge (6) adds blinkers and has a top pedigree for the local turf course. Beamer (3) has shown in some of his turf tries that he can be competitive in this well matched field.
Tully’s Dreamer (4) debuts off a series of decent workouts and picks up Calvin Borel. Aiden’s Indy (11) showed good speed last out and can move forward again. Carnelian (5) drops in class and may improve off her debut.
Beamish (6) may pressure the top choice and has the recency edge over that one. Tater Downs (2) just missed at this level last out and can sit in a perfect stalking spot.
Lunar Fleet (1) drops sharply after faltering badly against better. He goes for a sharp team and looks well placed here. Chef Eric (2) has a good local record and is the one to beat here.
Bourbon Kitty (9) could not carry her speed as far on the Polytrack last out in her first try versus winners and fits better her. Harmony Hills (5) has been facing much better fields and now goes in a claiming race for the first time, making her a danger in here. Lindyhop (4) has been facing better and may find the class drop more to her liking.
Sugarscat (3) improved in her first try on the grass and looks set to improve again. Saratoga Bound (1) encountered all the trouble last out and lost her rider. She fits with this group with some racing luck.
Tenderasiwannabe (9) takes another drop down the claiming ladder and shortens up in distance, which should suit her running style well. Fitz’n To Go (7) didn’t appear to handle the off going last out and can make amends on a dry track. Asian Joy (3) ran well at this level last out and fits with these.
Henny’s Hurricane (4) has a good local record and comes in off a strong effort. Street Storm (7) just missed as the favorite in a quickly run race and is a top contender off that performance. Garnet Crystals (3) has a good stalking style for this race, which lacks some real solid speed.
Itsnottheright (10) ran well in both career efforts and is well drawn to the outside here. Russian Bear (6) is a debut runner from a sharp first out stable. Sea Fighter (8) has been consistent this year and will be closing late. The Freak (7) and Cash and Cookies (1) look to be factors in the top five.
