Jill Byrne's Handicapping
Red Ace (1) has the speed from the rail and drops in class today. Shortbread (6) ran evenly last out and can be in a good stalking spot from the outside. Bob Can’t Jump (5) broke through with a win last out and can repeat here.
Molly Morgan (3) has been facing better and should appreciate the softer field today. Galetoire (2) came back off the layoff with a decent effort and can improve today. Flashy American (6) returns to the dirt surface where she has run her best races.
Annelle (5) tries turf for the first time but shows some good synthetic efforts and goes for a good barn. Original Kitten (2) has a strong turf pedigree and drops sharply in class today. Annaclone (1) shows a couple of decent turf tries and will be running late.
Lou Brissie (7) returns to the track where he won a graded stakes race 2 years ago and has always performed well. Gruenewald (6) is a course specialist and will be rolling late if the pace is hot. Bahim (1) is in good form at this level and worked well for today.
Adena’s Chance (1) drops out of tougher races for top connections and looks strong in this race. Elusive Action (6) ran well against open claimers and fits well in this conditioned claimer. Kitty’s Turn (8) has the speed to be a danger from the start and drops in class.
Good Tickled (3) made up ground in his debut in a quickly run race and can improve with a better start today. Positively (8) has a top pedigree and a series of steady morning drills. Show Some Magic (2) makes his debut for top juvenile connections.
Jimmy Simms (6) runs for a claiming price for the first time after competing well against top stakes fields and has the speed to be a danger on the lead. Woodbourne (5) should find a good spot right off the pace. Redboard (7) is a course winner and will be forcing the issue from the start with the top pick.
Toastmaster (4) faded after a rough start versus better and looks best in here with a smooth trip. Green Mouse (2) makes his second start off a break and goes for a claiming price for the first time. Saratoga Red (1) has the stamina edge to pick up the pieces late.
Zimmer (4) won back to back races here under Borel and can improve in his second start of the year and the return to the main track. Haptown (7) always runs his race and can be a factor if he transfers his Oaklawn form to Churchill. Chilled (2) will move forward off his last start.
Southern Parkway (7) has put in two good efforts back to back off the layoff and gets a slight edge in this well matched field. Class President (2) finished just behind the top pick and can make amends with a clean trip. Burn The Mortgage (8) has a solid turf record and goes for a hot barn.
Burr Jimmy (4) can improve in his second start and with the added distance on the class drop. Doc Heath (1) has been consistent at this level. Great Life (10) stretches out in his second start of the year. Zippity Dubai (2) and Commander Bull (9) can fill out the top five.
