Jill Byrne's Handicapping
First Minister (2) raced well off the layoff and should transfer that form to the dirt today. Trade (6) set the pace before fading against better and can be a factor here. Jaimes Gold (5) goes for a new stable which does well in these scenarios.
Tito (5) drops in class again today and can handle the return to the main track. Longshot Warrior (4) goes for the lowest price of his career and has been close against better. El Barron (2) has the most upside to move forward off an easy maiden victory.
Tiban (2) looks like a standout in this field and can continue his win streak today. Home of the Gold (3) finished just behind the top pick and will be running late. Dream Now (6) steps up for new connections in his second start in over 18 months.
Zapparition (5) just missed in a strong effort last out and can make amends with a repeat of that effort. Moon Struck Nemi (2) exits a strong stakes race last out and has been close against some good company. Vivo Per Lei (8) should move forward back on grass here in her third start off the layoff.
The Mimosa Lady (5) is well placed today for top connections. Cherry Forever (6) faces claiming company for the first time today and exits a tough allowance race. Donna Getyourgun (4) was competitive at this level last fall and fits well here.
Take Interest (6) drops in class after a rough trip as the favorite and can rebound here. Spittin Feathers (4) broke poorly from the rail last out and can be a factor here with a better post. Mycitytip (1) exits a good effort in a quickly run race last out.
Por Que (1) drops slightly after a good runner up performance behind Ready’s Rocket. Plasma Beam (6) looks to take this field from gate to wire and is in the best form of the group. D’Wildcard (8) defeated several he meets again today and is a course specialist.
Downtown Ghost (8) ran well in both main track efforts and should like the return to the dirt here. Kingwood (9) is interesting as he stretches out in distance and may be the lone speed. Moon Traveler (7) will need some speed on the front to help his late close.
Typhoon Charlie (11) was flat as the favorite on the dirt last out and may prefer the move back to grass today. Black Rhino (12) draws a poor post for his return but is a course winner. Radiant Talent (1) returns from a layoff with good works and proven form.
Afleeting Lady (4) can improve in her second try off a layoff and with the drop back to allowance company. Distorted Love (3) has a solid local record and gets a favorable pace set up here. It’s Tea Time (1) ran her best race here in the fall behind the top pick.
Centre Court (12) improved when switched to the turf this year and should get a good stalking trip. Aunt Pat (11) has run well in both turf tries and will be rolling late. Look Who’s Ritzy (2) woke up on the grass and can be close throughout. Cannalita (3) and Hurdle Rate (8) should fill out the top five.
