Jill Byrne's Handicapping
Merv (3) has worked well for his debut for top connections. Quite Ready (4) has trained steadily for his return to the races and ran well in his only local start. Can’t Prove It (2) raced evenly in his first out and can move forward off of that.
Charlies Swell (4) takes blinkers off and returns to the dirt for his second start off the layoff. Curzon Street (2) got up for the win after a troubled trip and should handle the added distance here. Tycoon (1) finished well in his only main track start and drops in class today.
Gold Love (7) could not hold on at this level last out and may be able to stalk the other speed from the outside draw. Winter’s Child (6) was well behind the top pick but has some efforts that put her back in the mix again today. Saratoga Bound (3) goes back to the dirt course off an easy score on the turf last out.
Dynamical (3) just missed with a wide trip last out and looks best today with the addition of blinkers. Just For Today (4) broke poorly and raced greenly in his debut. He should like the added ground today. Mr. Producer (1) also broke tardily from the rail in his debut and can move forward off that.
Parade of Homes (2) was an easy victor last out who also has turf form; he looks tough to go against here. Miss Jackson Grace (8) exits a turf sprint win and will be rolling late. Courtly Flyer (7) has good speed and will appreciate the shorter distance today.
Train Heist (5) faltered badly on the Polytrack last out and now returns to the dirt and drops in class for a top barn. Kowboy Kody (7) is very quick and comes into this race in good form. Numen Lumen (3) returns from a layoff at a shorter distance and exits a very strong race at Fair Grounds.
Wildie (4) did not care for the Polytrack last out and was overmatched as well. This Ones For Jodi (1) exits that same race and has good speed from the rail. With Excellence (3) ran an even third last out at this level and looks to land a share of this.
Onepointhreekarats (1) has never run a poor race and really seemed to excel on the turf last out. Woodford Lady (3) has a couple of good turf runs and looks to get a good pace set up today. Beijoca (6) closed resolutely to gain the victory for new connections and can move forward off of that effort.
Distort This (1) seemed to put it together in his last two efforts and has the pace to be close throughout. Thomas Jefferson (3) faltered baldy against better last out but has worked well since that. Fair Dinkum (6) is in good form and is well placed today.
Southern Joy (8) debuts with a strong turf pedigree, fast morning drills and winning connections. Set The Sail (4) raced evenly on the grass and may move forward off that try. Leroy Jr. (9) is another debut runner with a top turf pedigree and some good workouts for today. Bimah (6) and Little Officer (2) round out the top five.
