Jill Byrne's Handicapping
Tiz A Theme (2) has been in consistent form and faces the softest field he has seen yet. Billybillwillywill (4) drops in class and returns to the dirt course which he prefers. Moon Over Goshen (3) should improve in his second try off the layoff.
Queen of Scioto (5) exits a strong starter race and has the form to be a factor here. All By Chance (3) showed little last out but can be a part of this on her better tries. China Melissa (2) steps up in good form and should be close early.
Harper County (6) has never run poorly and is well placed today. Ridin’ Wild (5) improved in his last try and looks to get a trip right on the pace. Itsnottheright (4) ran well on the move up in class off the claim and figures prominently off that performance.
Mesonic (6) drops in class and makes his second start off along break. He has worked well for this and gets the slight edge in a tough field. Awesome Attack (3) just missed last out at this level. Colonel Bill (7) had no excuse when falling a nose short and adds to the depth of this.
Dynamic Knight (3) had a troubled trip and showed nothing last out but is better than that and can make amends today. Colbert (9) takes another dip in class and has run well enough at times to be a threat here. Splash Landing (5) raced evenly last out and can improve on the class drop.
Beat the Blues (3) finished a head back in this race last year and heads a trio for Bret Calhoun here and looks to get a perfect stalking trip today. Honey Chile (4) goes from turf to dirt and shows some decent effort against solid competition. Good Deed (1) faces older company today but exits the strongest race of all of these.
Rothko (1) has been freshened after chasing the best sprinters in the country, The Factor and Amazombie. He’s working well and will need a clean trip from the rail. Cash Refund (8) has been sharp in morning drills and draws well outside of all the speed today. Noble’s Promise (4) is the defending champion and is the class on his best form. Riley Tucker (3) will be finishing well and rarely runs a poor race.
Bizzy Caroline (1) does her best running on the Matt Win turf and looks to move forward in her second try off the break. Snow Top Mountain (8) will be rolling late and will move up if the turf is on the softer side.
Casino Dan (3) has been running evenly sprinting and now tries two turns on the dirt for the first time and has the pedigree to improve with that change. Quiet Man (5) could not make up ground behind soft fractions last out but looks to get more pace in here today. Mr. Ticket (4) looked good breaking his maiden last out.
Prime Maker (6) returns to the dirt track and has been training very well for today. Yankee Union (3) has run well in all tries and must be considered.
Running Royalty (6) debuts with a good series of works and a strong turf pedigree. Lindsay’s Song (9) has some good turf tries and takes a slight class drop. Accent (4) and Harlan Showgirl (5) round out the top five.
