Jill Byrne's Handicapping
Miz Wounded Knee (2) second as the favorite last out gets a bit more ground to work with today. Tricolette (4) raced evenly behind her stable mate, the top pick, in her debut and can improve here. Angel Socks (6) joins a new barn which does well in these scenarios.
Molly Morgan (1) just missed at these conditions last out and may make amends today. Raquel (4) returns to the dirt and drops back to a level where she has performed well. Floating Cloud (5) showed little in her debut in a stronger race on the grass and may fit better here.
Moon Dancing (3) ran well in a quickly run race at this level last out and looks strong here. Miss Femme Fatale (4) was a blowout winner in her latest and is in good form. All By Chance (1) was not disgraced against open claimers in her last and has the speed to take this field all the way.
Awesome Life (5) drops back to a claiming race today and has been solid on the turf versus better.
May One (8) takes a sharp class drop and returns to a distance better suited to her running style. Suz Slew (3) is another major class dropper for a top stable and is a top threat here. Drivingmitziandmax (7) has put together two good efforts and will try to wire this field.
It’s A Signer (3) has come back off the layoff in good form at this level and gets the slight edge in his third start off the break. Roman Along (2) faltered badly last out but has shown better than that in prior efforts.
Liquid Lunch (1) has been working very well for her debut and has the pedigree to be ready to go if she can overcome the inside post. Scammony (6) has shown some sparkle in the morning drills as well and has a better gate draw.
Quick Wit (2) was unlucky in his turf debut when having to take up sharply. With better racing luck and turf experience he can improve today. Chalice (10) should like the added furlong today and gets a decent pace set up. Tiz Sardonic Joe (5) comes in off the layoff and has shown good turf form by defeating Grade 1 winner Dullahan in his maiden win.
Artillery (2) drops sharply in class and returns to the dirt where he seems more effective. The Steel Warrior (4) had a rough trip when claimed last out and figures the greatest threat off that effort today. Flashaholic (3) never had a chance to run his best last out and takes another drop in class here. Cash and Cookies (10) and Moonrush (5) look to round out the top five.
