Jill Byrne's Handicapping
Rosesintherain (4) debuts with some good workouts and has a precocious pedigree. Pine Ridge (6) showed speed in her first start and has the experience edge. Indian Clarkie (8) has trained well and is bred to be quick.
Alydarla (3) has good turf form and has bee training well for this. Walker Bay (2) turns back in distance and will be rolling late.
Royal Start (7) has been running evenly against tougher fields and has the perfect running style to give her every chance here. Tanglewood Tale (8) returns to the dirt and makes her first start in a while for leading connections. Cache Me (3) drops back in class and is a factor on her best.
Western Sadler (5) chased an easy winner in his debut and can move forward off that. Next Speaker (2) is working sharply for this and looks set to go. Sky Captain (2B) has a poor post but should break better in his second try. Southern Blast (3) has had trouble in both starts and is a factor with a decent rail trip. Yo Blue (6) and Pataky Kid (7) round out the top five.
Le Mans (3) was runner up in a strong race and can move forward here. Hamiltonian (9) impressed in his debut win and has worked well since. Mr. Ticket (4) is better suited to the one turn mile distance.
Quiet Man (10) has steadily improved and will get a perfect pace setup here. Zimmer (1) drops in class and has a solid local record but may find himself pressured on the lead. Infrattini (4) was flat in his recent start but has shown better than that and fits well here.
Turallure (4) has Grade 1 form at the mile distance and gets a field with plenty of speed to set up his late closing kick. Guys Reward (6) is in his best form and has a fondness for the local course. Silver Rock (5) returned from the layoff with a sharp effort and can move forward off that.
Por Que (10) turns back in distance and may get a perfect race scenario today. Tiban (1) is in top form and the one to catch but may get some early pace pressure. Honor In Peace (11) has a solid local record and now goes for a new team that does well off the claim.
Stinking Creek (3) raced well at this level and can move forward in today’s race. Savage Vow (5) has been consistent in both local tries and figures as the one to beat today. Colbert (11) finally put it all together last out and can be a factor here.
Pernicious (8) made up a lot of ground in his debut and can move forward in his second try here. Bimah (1) was equally impressive in his debut and can improve off that experience. Grandstand (10) has run well in all his turf tries and figures with these on his best efforts. Empire on Fire (4) and Entrainment (2) look formidable in the top five.
