Jill Byrne's Handicapping
Race 1 – Cebu (1) fits well off her last two tries.
Race 2 – Steve’s Big Moe (2) will get a good pace set up today and could turn the tables on Laope (9). The latter does his best running on this track. Only Win (8) is consistent and is tough here..
Race 3 – Bin Elusive (8) is a debut runner with good workouts and catches a soft group. Box Office Appeal (10) faded in her debut and may last longer today. Dixie Devon (4) returns to the main track and drops in class. Prettiereverydave (5) and Clever Gretel (6) look strong in the Super Hi 5.
Race 4 – Always Kitten (1a) just missed last out after running into traffic and gets the edge in a competitive field. Sky High Gal (2) was strong in both her turf runs and looks capable of a big effort here.
Race 5- Sinister Intent (4) was strong in his first try versus winners and can be a factor off of that. Beer Garden (8) drops in class and can move forward in his second start off the layoff.
Race 6 – Hillary D (9) tries two turns for the first time off some solid races and will be well placed from the start. Cypress Pond (8) runs the same on any surface and will be picking up the pieces late. Soot Z (3) can be a factor if she repeats her last performance.
Race 7- Lily The Pink (9) was able to put together back to back wins and looks capable of adding another one here. Limonar (7) has a solid record but has struggled at this condition. Tapit Dancer (2) put in an off effort last out but can rebound here on her previous turf tries.
Race 9 – Rightfully So (10) ran well in his first local try and has two good works since that. Le Mans (4) has a good record on this surface and is training steadily for his comeback race. King Kid (6) finished behind his stablemate, the top pick last out and a repeat of that race puts him close here
Race 8 – Saint X. (9) showed speed in his debut and has trained well for his return today. Oxbow (11) has a strong pedigree and has worked well since his last start. Royal Warrior (8) is a debut runner with decent workouts for a strong barn.
Race 10 – Boisterous (2) ships in from New York in good form for today’s G-3 River City. He has a perfect stalking style for this race. Guys Reward (7) is a grade 2 winner and has a great record on the Matt Win course. Optimizer (5) turns back in distance and has a strong turf record. He will be on or near the pace today.
Race 11- One Hot Gator (6) could not hold on in a stronger starter race. Malibu Sunrise (2) has had a good year and fits well here. China Melissa (4) drops back to a level she has run well at prior. Privatemarketvalue (12) and Real Obvious (10 look strong in the Super Hi 5.
