Said (4) drops in for $20,000 after a disappointing effort at Keeneland but returns to Churchill Downs where she ran her best race last fall. Adriana (3) turns back in distance and gets Hall of Fame jockey Calvin Borel. JILL’S SELECTIONS – 5-4-3

  • Race 2 2-1-7

    Race 2 – Grind (2) is a consistent performer at this level for top trainer Steve Asmussen and should get a perfect stalking trip. Shadow Warrior (1) has a win at this distance over the Churchill Downs main track and posted a bullet work in preparation for today’s race. High Stakes (7) takes a slight jump up in class but picks up Joel Rosario and has the early speed to potential take them gate to wire. JILL’S SELECTIONS – 2-1-7

    Race 3 – At Bat (2) exits a strong maiden race at Fair Grounds after a promising debut for solid connections. Thanks Bro (8) just missed after breaking slow in his previous effort and is training forwardly for this race. JILL’S SELECTIONS – 2-8-6

  • Race 4 2-3-6

    Race 4 – Rothko (2) was last seen facing Grade 1 foes and has had a layoff after a disappointing effort. He has worked sharply for return to the races. Sum of the Parts (3) finished fourth in the Breeders Cup Sprint and gets back to the dirt after tiring on the turf last out at Fair Grounds. Why Pretend (6) was a dominant winner last out at Tampa and enters today’s race in good form. JILL’S SELECTIONS – 2-3-6

    Race 5- She’s Coal Fired and Sweetmarys Success (2) debut for top two year old trainer Wesley Ward and have both shown excellent speed in their morning drills. Divergent View (10) daughter of Congrats debuts for sharp stable and gets Leparoux in the irons. Push and Lemon Cookie (3) have sharp works and are both well bred. JILL’S SELECTIONS – 2-10-3

    Race 6 – Derby Kitten (6) takes a class drop and will be closing late for strong connections. Bell by the Ridge (2) coming off back to back victories on the turf at Fair Grounds and will get a good stalking trip. Stormy Lord (3) faced a tough field at Keeneland last out and tired after setting quick fractions. Will try to wire the field and the class drop should help. JILL’S SELECTIONS – 6-2-3

    Race 7 – Illegally Blonde (6) makes her first start off the claim for Tom Amoss who strikes at a high percentage in these scenarios and will be running late down the lane. Magical Cat (4) drops in for a claiming price for the first time in her career and switches back to her preferred surface. JILL’S SELECTIONS – 6-4-1

  • Race 8 10-11-5

    Race 8 – Eddie’s Band (10) was disappointing last time at Oaklawn but makes his first start for the Tom Amoss stabke and posted a sharp bullet work at Churchill Downs. Homage to Jack (11) returns to traditional dirt after facing similar foes at Keeneland and is a consistent performer sprinting. Physical Gold (5) always give a top effort and will appreciate the drop in class. JILL’S SELECTIONS – 10-11-5

  • Race 9 5-7-1

    Race 9 – I’m Your Luv (5) faced a tough field in her last start at Keeneland and will be tough to beat second off the layoff. Cat’s Holiday (7) has had two troubled trips and was blocked in the deep stretch last time out and could challenge the top choice with a clean trip. JILL’S SELECTIONS – 5-7-1
