Jill Byrne's Handicapping
Race 1 – Aji (7) ran evenly at this level last out and should get the added distance. At Bat (1) adds blinkers and drops down a level in class.
Race 2 – Ultimate Temper (8) takes a sharp class drop and looks best of these off her last effort. Lodi Lion (4) adds blinkers which may keep her closer to the pace. Jessica’s Candy (3) picks up leading rider Bridgmohan and may take this field start to finish.
Race 3 – Same Cross (6) was over matched in her last start and should get back on track today with a perfect stalking trip. Livi Makenzie (1) is consistent, has good inside speed and may hang on for a share of this. Devious Intent (3) gets plenty of pace in here and will be rolling late on the cut back today.
Race 4 – Streethomealabama (5) made up ground after breaking poorly and improves off her debut. Electric Temptress (7) is a debut runner for top connections with a series of good workouts. Del Mar Holiday (1) finished strongly in her debut and can improve off that.
Race 5- Dr. Bill (4) looks to be in the best form of this group and gets a slight edge here. Hanuman (8) returns from a long break and has trained quickly for today. Elusive Energy (7) ran evenly last out and fits well with these.
Race 6 – Silent Pipe (1) and Attractive Ride (1a) make a strong entry with the latter looking the best on the drop in class and his record locally. Won Fast Bullet (2) takes a drop in claiming price for a top team and has shown good form against stronger fields. Lookn Mighty Fast (4) should be competitive with these.
Race 7 – Storm Cloud Coming (2) has a strong local record and runs well off the layoff. Belle Muse (4) ran well at this level last out and gets plenty of speed to set up her closing kick. Galloping Domino (9) makes her third start off the break and can be tough to catch on the lead.
Race 8 –Make A Fortune (4) is consistent and has shown some decent efforts on the turf . He has worked sharply for today. Trelawny (6) has the best speed and like the top pick is training well for this. Zeb (1) will perform better with the return to the turf today and adds to the pace from the rail.
Race 9 – Tuscan Treasure (4) is well placed off an impressive maiden win against better company. Apollo Sky (8) stopped quickly on the polytrack when trying two turns and looks to rebound in today’s conditions. Dehere On Tour (12) just missed at this level last out and figures to be a factor here. Jamestown (3) and Zeke McCool (11) complete the top five.
