Jill Byrne's Handicapping
Lake Michigan (6) drops in class in her second try off the layoff and has worked well for this. Nola Girl (7) adds blinkers and has good outside speed.
Mary Magdalene (5) drops in class of an even effort for a sharp barn. Tap All Night (3) may not have cared for the distance last out and can rebound today. Venus De Milo (6) has a couple of good efforts locally and is another on the class drop. JILL’S SELECTIONS – 5-3-6
Miss Bracken (5) is a debut runner with good workouts and looks set to go today. Separation (2) has had many chances but always run well and now faces claimers for the first time making her a big danger here. Forbidden (3) has been solid in all three tries.
Southern Blessing (4) has trained well for his debut and has a precocious pedigree. Phenomenalmoon (3) has a similar profile to the top pick and picks up the leading rider.
Fire Alarm (5) had a rough trip last out and now returns to the claiming level where he is a solid fit. Awesome Bet (6) was no factor against a tough field off the layoff last out and can move forward today. Stay Put (7) tried a stronger group last out and can land a share of this from off the pace.
Majestic Bay (3) goes for new connections today and should like the local course. Doctor Peter (4) has the speed to be close throughout and the pedigree to improve on the grass. E Pluribus (7) shows a couple of solid turf tries and should be closer to the pace.
Simple Interest (4) had a strong debut run and has worked well since and looks tough to go by here. Masaru (8) shortens up in distance and is well drawn outside the speed. Recalling Memories (3) has two solid efforts and is a strong competitor with this group.
Barrio Babe (3) drops in class and returns to the main track for leading connections. Sheriff Silverstar (4) is consistent and fits better at today’s conditions. Tempted To Tapit (2) returned to the races off a long break and had an awkward trip. He is capable of better and may settle better today. JILL’S SELECTIONS- 3-4-2
Off The Page (8) has good turf sprint form and the speed to overcome the outside draw. Mico Margarita (7) ran well in both turf tries and will like the return to the grass here. Law Dog (1) ran well on the local course and looks sharp off the layoff.
Golden Gulch (3) was flat off the layoff and can rebound today with a top effort in this well matched group. Hoorayforhollywood (8) has shown some strong efforts that would make him a contender with this field. Sabercat (1) has been working very well and on his best he is a major threat down the stretch.
I’m A Lucky Lady (8) had a tough trip on the turf last out and a return to her maiden win makes her a threat today. Bye Love You (3) has been consistent versus better and may break through today. Sunshine’s Edge (4) steps up for a sharp stable and fits well here. Tully’s Dreamer (5) and Bread Line (1a) round out the top five.
