Jill Byrne's Handicapping
Conservative (1) exits a solid win at these conditions and looks tough to deny. Silent Pipe (5) takes a drop in class and is consistent. Banjammer (2) had a rough trip last out and will be trying to take this field gate to wire.
Walkin In A Shadow (3) drops sharply for today, is training well and has a win over this surface. Barksdale (5) ran evenly at this level last out and figures off that effort. Touch Of Revenge (7) can land a share of this on her best. JILL’S SELECTIONS – 3-5-7
Council Bluff (6) ran evenly at this level and looks strong today. Are We There Yet (1) is a newcomer with decent morning drills for this level. Tooprettyforwords (4) is a factor with these off her last try.
D’Cajun Cat (2) has worked well for his debut for top connections and gets a slight edge in a tough juvenile race. Mygalsal (6) also shows strong morning works for his first try for a sharp stable. Union Hall (4) just missed in his debut and has the experience edge over the top two. JILL’S SELECTIONS – 2-6-4
Rothko (1) looks to defend his title in the G-3 Aristides. He may have needed his last effort off the layoff and should improve today. Scatman (2) overcame a tough post last out and can be a factor with a repeat of that effort. Jasizzle (5) just missed in his first local try and gets the favorable outside post for his rematch with the top two.
Cartouche (6) exits a strong starter race and is better suited to the two turns today. All In Slew (1) showed nothing off the claim last out but on his prior performances fits with this group. Atlantic Paws (5) has the speed to be a factor from the start at this level.
One Brave Warrior (2) showed speed before fading late on the polytrack in his debut. He has worked well since locally and can move forward today. Linchpin (1) raced evenly for his first try and is another well bred runner with a chance for improvement. Prescott Brown (4) returns to the races as a gelding and has been working quickly for this.
Devious D’Oro (1) has run well in all her starts and should be well placed from the start today. Irish Lute (7) has been solid in all her tries and exits a huge effort in the G-3 Eight Belles. Sky Girl (3) steps up off a nice maiden win and looks to be moving forward with each start. JILL’S SELECTIONS- 1-7-3
Astronomer (2) is bred to handle the dirt surface and drops back to a level he is competitive at. School Spirit (5) makes his second start off an extended break and should also like the class drop. Run Hide (6) has been solid at this level.Short Story Long (8) look strong in the Super Hi Five. JILL’S SELECTIONS-2-5-6-8
