Jill Byrne's Handicapping

  • Race 1 2-5-4

Emmy Rules (2) had everything go wrong in her last start and now drops to the bottom level looking to regain form. La tupenda (5) goes for a new stable today and has shown the ability to fit at this level. Brooks Beach (4) can be a factor if she repeats her last. JILL’S SELECTIONS – 2-5-4

  • Race 2 1/1a-7-5

Finding Paradise (1) and Voodoo Doctor (1a) make a strong entry off the claim with the latter the better of the two. Headstart (7) is consistent and fits with these. Kitty’s Turn (5) has good speed and a good local record. JILL’S SELECTIONS – 1/1a—7-5

  • Race 3 2-5-6

Bemata (2) is consistent when at this level and distance and gets the edge in a closely matched race. Marchwood (5) made his dirt debut a winning one in a very fast race. Visionary Ruler (6) returns from a long layoff with good works and was a solid competitor last year. JILL’S SELECTIONS – 2-5-6

  • Race 4 4-5-2

Starstruck (4) takes blinkers off for today and was compromised last time by the slow pace. Honey Hues (5) led all the way in her turf debut and again looks best of the speed. Glamour N Glory (2) has a win on the local turf and gets a decent pace set up. JILL’S SELECTIONS – 4-5-2

  • Race 5 7-6-3

Ruble (7) exits the strong G-3 Derby Trial and gets plenty of early speed to run in to. No Distinction (6) has worked well since a big effort last out. Golden Frontier (3) adds to the pace today and has strong numbers. JILL’S SELECTIONS –7-6-3

  • Race 6 1-5-7

R Next Escapade (1) returns to the main track after a decent try on the turf and gets the edge here. Givmethreestepsmr (5) had a tough start and was never a factor in a fast race and can rebound here. Noun (7) tries dirt for the first time off the claim and is capable. JILL’S SELECTIONS – 1-5-7

  • Race 7 3-10-2

Chunnel (3) is a well bred debut runner with a strong turf family and good works. Salute The LTJG (10) draws poorly but has worked well for a sharp barn. Manaus (2) raced evenly in two starts and should like the grass. JILL’S SELECTIONS – 3-10-2

  • Race 8 8-5-9

Niemi Says No (8) was second best last out and the shorter distance should help here. Stanley Cup (5) can improve off his debut and is the one to beat. Short Story Long (9) drops another level and looks well placed with these. JILL’S SELECTIONS- 8-5-9

  • Race 9 5-6-3

Googleado (5) has been solid in all his starts and can add to that success here. Mico Margarita (6) had everything go wrong on the turf last out and has come back with a good work for today. King Kid (3) has worked brilliantly for his return and ran well here in his debut. JILL’S SELECTIONS- 5-6-3

  • Race 10 4-6-3

Ghost Is Clear (4) dominated a strong starter group last out in a fast time and a repeat of that makes him dangerous in this deep field. Bull Dozer (6) goes for a new barn and has excellent form and a good running style. Hamiltonian (3) exits a very tough race and can finish better if allowed to settle a bit earl y on. JILL’S SELECTIONS-4-6-3

  • Race 11 3-2-10-4-9

Hidden Edge (3) goes for a sharp barn and for the lowest level he has faced. Cash Cow (2) has put two solid local effort together and a repeat of those makes him strong here. Janet’s Candy (10) . JILL’S SELECTIONS-3-2-10-4-9
