Jill Byrne's Handicapping
Molly Z (1) is training well for her debut for a leading juvenile barn. Vexed (6) should move forward off her debut and appreciate running on the main dirt. Tizsotiznot (3) has worked well since her first start and can improve today.
Maybelle Slew (5) has a good local record and is consistent. Miss Dora (2) drops sharply in class today and looks set to go with these. Sister Genevra (6) faltered versus better on the turf last out and fits well here.
Indian Run (5) was an easy winner last out and has been training well here for today. More Than Beauty (4) had a rough start recently in a race that is turning out to be a key effort. Angie’s Prim Lady (3) drew off with ease for a win in a quick time.
Bolting Brown (3) steps up off the claim and should like the added ground. Counselor Ron (4) makes his second try off the layoff and can be closer to the pace here.
Set The Sail (1) is consistent and has a win over this turf course and several of today’s opponents. Key To Power (5) seems to be rounding in to sharp form and gets plenty of pace in front today. Joinem (2) makes his third start off a long break and has the back class to be effective today.
Launch Commander (6) has excellent speed, is well drawn outside for a top team. See I A (8) picks up Borel and is a course and condition winner.
Artic Slope (2) ran well in his debut on the turf and need only transfer that race to the main track to be a contender here. Bold Visionary (4) chased a next out stakes winner in his debut and has the pedigree to improve at the distance. Chas’s Legacy (3) made up ground after a slow start in his first start and should also relish the added ground.
Delightful Magic (5) put together two strong races here in the spring and has run solid at today’s distance. Honchis’n Ponchis (3) returned from a year’s layoff with an even effort and does her best running at Churchill. Sassy Kiss (8) could not last on the turf at a longer trip and is well drawn outside the speed.
Burban (6) was no match for one of the top female sprinters last out after chasing very fast fractions. She is a course and local stakes winner and gets the slight edge from the outside in a well matched field in today’s Open Mind. Devious Intent (3) defeated champion Groupie Doll last out and will be closing late from off the expected hot pace. Vuitton (1) has been freshened for this and always gives a solid performance.
Prescott Brown (8) makes his third start off a layoff and showed improvement last out. Bernsteins Star (2) drops in class today for a top barn. Dr. Ireland (5) and Lay It Down (4) and Alert and Perky (1) complete the top five.
