Breeders' Cup World Championships Hospitality and Security Procedures

Churchill Downs and the Breeders’ Cup will implement special hospitality and safety measures for the Breeders’ Cup World Championships on Friday, Nov. 5 and Saturday, Nov. 6. Patrons are advised to arrive at the track early on both days to accommodate possible search procedures at all entrance gates.

Admission gates (1, 10 and 17) will be open on Friday, Nov. 5 at Noon (all times EDT) and Saturday, Nov. 6 at 10 a.m. First post is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Friday and 12:05 p.m. on Saturday.

Items that WILL NOT be permitted for carry-in for Breeders’ Cup Days, Friday Nov. 5 and Saturday, Nov. 6

  • Bottles and cans of any kind (including ALL beverage and lotion containers -- glass, plastic or metal
  • Grills
  • Alcoholic Beverages
  • Thermoses
  • Backpacks
  • Luggage (includes briefcases)
  • Duffel Bags
  • Wagons
  • Umbrellas
  • Weapons (including knives)
  • Chairs
  • Blankets
  • Tarpaulins

Items that WILL be permitted for carry-in on Breeders’ Cup Days, Friday Nov. 5 and Saturday, Nov. 6

  • Food items in clear plastic bags (maximum size 18” X 18” — no trash bags)*
  • “Box” lunches if packaged in clear plastic bags or containers (maximum size 8” X 18” — no trash bags)*
  • Cellular Telephones**
  • Cameras and camcorders**
  • Small personal music systems, radios and TV’s (No Boomboxes)**
  • Binoculars
  • Seat cushions (without back)
  • Purses (subject to search)
  • Baby Bags (subject to search)
  • Strollers (ONLY if carrying a child

*Limit of two bags per person

** Patrons may be required to turn on any electronic items before entry is permitted
