A couple of important updates as we move forward past Derby Week:
- We will no longer be temperature checking or wrist banding at the stable gate entrances. We are instead asking that you perform a self-check / evaluation before arriving and ask that you please stay home and encourage your staff to stay home if feeling ill or showing COVID-19 related symptoms. It is important that we all remain vigilant and ensure that all of our staff and team members are healthy and safe. Should anyone living onsite be experiencing any signs of illness, please reach out immediately to Churchill Downs security.
- Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear recently announced that people attending outdoor gatherings with less than 1,000 people will no longer be mandated to wear masks. Because of this, individuals while ON THE BACKSIDE ONLY will no longer be mandated to wear masks but are still encouraged to do so. Since the backside has less than 1,000 people at a given time, this falls in compliance with the Governor’s order. However, anytime while on the FRONT SIDE DURING RACING MASKS ARE STILL MANDATORY. This includes while in the paddock saddling, Winner’s Circle and inside the facility. This is due to the fact that when open for racing we have more than 1,000 people in attendance.
