Churchill Downs, Levy Restaurants Sports & Entertainment and Chef Gil Logan, the executive chef for the historic home of the Kentucky Derby and Levy Restaurants, will present “Beef vs. Bison,” an unforgettable evening of cooking demonstrations and dining to benefit Kosair Children’s Hospital, from 6-10 p.m. (EDT) on Friday, Aug. 22 in the Triple Crown Room in the Jockey Club Suites at Churchill Downs.

A limited number of tickets remain available for this memorable event, which will be hosted by Chef Gil, Dr. and Mrs. Sal Bertolone and Jim and Catherine Smith. Proceeds from the evening will benefit the Pediatric Hematology Oncology Clinic at Kosair Children’s Hospital.

The evening will begin with Chef Gil’s cooking demonstrations for “Kentucky Proud” beef and bison produced in the commonwealth of Kentucky, followed by a dining experience that will feature those delights and other regional dishes prepared especially for the occasion by the chef.

“We’re going to have a great evening with lots of food and fun,” said Logan. “Along with preparing these Kentucky Proud beef and bison dishes, we’ll talk about pairing wines with those foods and look at the history of local food. We’ll also look at some ways to get those most out of your food dollar with these great Kentucky foods when you’re preparing for special occasions and dinners, large or small.”

Tickets are $60 per person and are limited to 200 for event. Tickets may be purchased by calling Janet Miller at Churchill Downs at (502) 638-3944 or via e-mail at [email protected]. Wine will be served with dinner and a cash bar will also be available. Attire for the evening is business casual.
