(June 13, 2008) – Country Ridge Racing’s Natalicat wore down favored Pure Star in the final sixteenth of a mile to win the Friday afternoon headliner for fillies and mares 3-years-old and up at Churchill Downs by a half-length and give apprentice jockey Diego Rodriguez his second win of the day.

Trained by Tim Schuh, Natalicat covered the six furlongs on a fast track in 1:10.27 in posting her fourth win in 18 career starts. The victory in the $43,100 race was worth $27,031 and increased Natalicat’s earnings to $110,490.

A 4-year-old Kentucky-bred daughter of Tactical Cat, Natalicat paid $17.60, $4.20 and $3.20. Pure Star, ridden by Robby Albarado, paid $2.60 and $2.20. Miss Buffalean, who finished another 3 ½ lengths back in third under Calvin Borel, returned $6 to show.
