We proudly celebrate and honor America’s servicemen and women for their unwavering patriotism, dedication to our country, and sacrifice for the greater good. This Military Appreciation Day, we also commemorate the 250th birthday of the U.S. Army. Be sure to stop by the U.S. Army’s table to learn more about their work and how you can connect with their mission.

Active military members and veterans are invited to join us for a day at the races in recognition of their service.

On Military Appreciation, Churchill Downs invites guests to enjoy lunch on Millionaires' Row or Skye Terrace for only $40 and can be purchased by calling our Group Sales at 502-636-4450.*

  • Presentation of Colors and National Anthem Performance: Our National Anthem will be performed by Staff Sergeant Jasper Prier
    • Presentation of Colors by the United States Army Recruiting Division
  • Learn About Charitable Partners:
    • USA Cares: USA Cares’ mission is to provide post-9/11 military veterans, service members, and their families with financial assistance and post service skills training to create a foundation for long-term stability. Our services improve the quality of life for veterans and their families and reduce potential factors that can contribute to veteran suicide.
  • Patriotic Themed Songs:
    • Steve Buttlemanwill salute our military members by playing songs with patriotic themes prior to the Call to the Post for each race.
