About R.E.I.N. Fund

Relief for Equine Industry Needs (R.E.I.N.) was established by the Churchill Downs Foundation in response to the growing needs in the racing industry as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent interruption of customary racing operations. The emergency relief fund specifically addresses the needs of backside communities by providing meals, micro-grants and financial assistance with emergency needs as well as the fulfillment of essential care for horses. The Churchill Downs Foundation was established to support industry charitable initiatives such as Thoroughbred aftercare and health and education opportunities for the valued backside community.

As a result of the success of the REIN Fund, the Churchill Downs Incorporated R.E.I.N. Fund has already been able aid several members of the horseracing community in returning to the Churchill Downs backside and resume their racing business. Applications for aid within the equine industry will be taken and reviewed by an advisory committee.

To join us in this effort, follow the steps below to donate to the R.E.I.N. Fund:

If you would like to donate a percentage of your winnings during the 2020 Churchill Downs Spring Meet to the R.E.I.N. Fund you can opt in via InCompass. Under the ACCOUNT tab, on the bottom right you will see an option to set an amount for REIN Donation.

You may also Submit the Form to the Horsemen’s Bookkeeper at [email protected].

If you would like to commit a percentage of your winnings during the 2020 Churchill Downs Meets to the R.E.I.N. Fund, please contact Cathy Shircliff ([email protected] or 502.638.3883) to notify your intent.
